Our History

Affordable Moving Services, Inc. (AMS) was the first and is still the only fully licensed, full service moving and storage company located in the Branson Tri-Lakes area. President John Cheary and  Secretary Jacque Cheary are the company's founders. Affordable Moving Services, Inc., has moved thousands of families locally, hundreds of families nationally and several internationally. John says, "Over 90% of the local moves are from repeat business and referrals. We take great pride in the quality of our employees and the service they consistently deliver to our customers."

AFFORDABLE MOVING SERVICES and BRANSON HILLS STORAGE share the same facility located at 4030 State Hwy. 248.  Since joining the National Van Lines family Affordable Moving Services, Inc., has often ranked in their prestigious "Top Ten" of all the moving agencies in the USA and John was recently ranked as number three out of hundreds of customer service representatives.

Jean Lanning is our General Manager. She has a Master of Science Degree from Drury University. She keeps the field staff on track, and the whole company extremely well organized.

Community service and involvement are important values to John and Jacque. When it came time for Hollister Elementary to move to their new building, Affordable Moving Services, Inc., provided the trucks and men. When local missionaries needed to move, Affordable Moving Services, Inc., donated the time. AMS has provided a variety of services for Christian Action Ministries. When "The Hiding Place" for battered and abused women needs help we are there.  We are proud of our on going relationship with Church Army. We contribute each year to the Ozark Trails Council of the Boy Scouts of America. We help the local Jaycees and are active members of the Branson/Tri-Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce & CVB, as well as an affiliate member of the Tri-Lakes Board of Realtors.  In addition, our president John Cheary Serves on the Executive Board of The Missouri Movers Association and serves as a spokesman for that group, testifying for Missouri State Senate Committees considering legislation to eliminate illegal movers who have been scamming Missouri Citizens.
